The SUNTES TY...D-L is a manual-reset, ball-clutch type mechanical torque releaser (torque limiter) engineered by Sanyo Shoji Co., Ltd. in Japan. It is used in industrial automated machinery to protect driven components from catastrophic structural breakdown caused by unexpected mechanical blocks, overloads, or jams. Internal driving balls sit inside tightly machined detents under axial force from the 16 white coil springs. The moment resistance on the driven line spikes past your preset point (between 26–94 N·m), the balls roll out of their pockets. The driving hub then spins freely without transferring hazardous kinetic energy down the line.
