It operates as an overload safety device featuring a ball clutch / release-type cartridge mechanism designed to protect automated machinery from sudden rotational stress. When the machine encounters resistance exceeding the pre-set torque limit, the internal balls force their way out of the recesses. This triggers a free-rotation retention mechanism that completely detaches the driving force, allowing the assembly to spin freely without friction.
