SQ77 = Isolated Up To 500 Volt, C3=Internal Clearance Larger Than Normal. It is an electrically insulated, single-row deep groove ball bearing. It is designed for applications where electrical currents could cause damage to standard bearings, such as in electric motors and generators. C3 refers to internal radial clearance greater than the “normal” clearance (CN). In other words, C3 means there is extra internal play / looseness in the radial clearance direction to allow for thermal expansion, misalignment, etc. This is common in motor bearings, where temperature variation is expected, so having a bit more clearance helps avoid excessive preload or binding as things heat up.
