These bearing is a specific configuration of the Samiflex elastic coupling designed for SAE flywheel arrangements, commonly used to connect engines to driven equipment. The polyurethane insert is axially split, allowing it to be removed and replaced in minutes by simply sliding back the retaining ring. This eliminates the need to realign or move the machinery. The elastic insert fails, there is no metal-to-metal contact between the hubs, which prevents sparking and enhances safety in explosive (ATEX-rated) environments.
