The FC-K bearing is a needle roller clutch bearing (also known as a one-way lock bearing) designed to provide high load capacity within a compact radial space. Its primary function is to permit free rotation in one direction and to lock (transmit torque) in the opposite direction. The "K" suffix indicates it typically utilizes a plastic/nylon cage assembly for the needle rollers. The FC-K acts as a freewheel mechanism or backstop clutch. It allows relative motion between the shaft and housing in one direction (overrunning) and prevents it in the other (locking), enabling functions like indexing or preventing reverse rotation in machinery. The bearing features a drawn outer cup (outer ring) and a full complement of needle rollers guided by a cage assembly.
