Hyatt Roller Bearing company was a manufacturer of roller bearings from 1892 to 1916, when it was acquired by General Motors. It continued as a distinct division of GM for many years. The company struggled at first, then entered a phase of profitable growth.

In August, 2012, General Bearing Corporation was acquired by SKF, a world leader in bearings and related technologies and services.

Today, General Bearing manufactures, assembles and distributes a variety of bearing components and bearing products, including ball bearings, tapered roller bearings, spherical roller bearings and cylindrical roller bearings under the Hyatt and The General trademarks. The Company supplies original equipment manufacturers ("OEMs") and the industrial aftermarket worldwide. The Company's products are used in a broad range of applications, including automobiles, railroad cars, locomotives, trucks, office equipment, machinery and appliances.
